The pastor introduces Samson as the biblical hero who, through the supernatural strength given by God, was able to accomplish feats impossible for an ordinary man. He reminds the congregation that Samson was not powerful by his own strength, but because “the Spirit of God” was upon him. This supernatural power is the starting point of the message: every believer, like Samson, can receive a divine strength that goes beyond human limits.
In the account, Samson finds a fresh donkey’s jawbone, which he turns into a weapon capable of striking down a thousand men. The pastor uses this image to illustrate that, for God to use us, our “tool” (the spirit) must be “fresh”—that is, pure, available, and fully devoted to Him. If the jawbone (our will) is defiled or attached to the flesh, it cannot be used as an effective weapon against spiritual enemies.
The pastor emphasizes that, for the spirit to become this fresh jawbone, the flesh must die. He calls on the beloved to “let your flesh be silent,” to renounce their desires, their natural reactions, and their own plans. This symbolic death sets the Spirit free, which then takes hold of the “chains” and causes them to fall, allowing God to exercise His power through the believer.
Once one has surrendered the will of the flesh, the pastor assures that there is no longer any need to fear the enemy. Just like Samson, who, even when surrounded by a Philistine army, triumphed through the “jawbone” that God had made fresh, the Christian who lives by the Spirit has guaranteed victory. Victory no longer depends on our human strength, but on the hand of God deploying the power of the Spirit.
The message concludes with a call to present oneself as the instrument God wishes to use: “Be the fresh jawbone,” ready to be wielded. The pastor invites everyone to pray that the Spirit would take hold of their lives, to declare that their chains are broken, and to commit themselves to the divine mission—to destroy the plans of the enemy and to carry the message of the Gospel. Thus, like Samson, every believer can become a formidable weapon in the hands of the Almighty.
