Repairing the Cracks in Your Fondation

This morning, the pastor exhorts God's people to carry out an essential spiritual assessment: before building further in our lives, we must first “examine the foundation.” The heart of the message is based on the metaphor of two houses: one built on the rock (Christ) and the other on the sand (unstable human foundations). He encourages the congregation to identify the “cracks” present in our hearts, understand how God's Word becomes our daily foundation, and take practical steps to repair and strengthen that foundation.

Like an inspector examining the structure of a house, the Holy Spirit invites us to search our lives for cracks: lies, hypocrisy, lust, deceit, or malice that have crept into our thoughts and behaviors. These small flaws, when left unnoticed, allow moisture to seep in, cause cracks to multiply, and sooner or later threaten to bring down everything we have built. Recognizing these weak points is the first step toward healing: “I acknowledge my weaknesses, I confess them, and I place them into the Father's hands.”

Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35). Making God's Word our “daily baker” means reading it, meditating on it, and putting it into practice every morning. When the Word becomes our spiritual nourishment, it strengthens the rock beneath our feet; it provides the guidance, protection, and blessings that life without it cannot offer. Thus, every promise and every biblical truth becomes an invisible pillar supporting our relationships, finances, work, and home.

After identifying the cracks and restoring the Word to the center of our daily lives, we must take action: pray with authority, renounce inherited habits that feed the cracks, and rebuild on the Rock. We can ask the Holy Spirit to inspect every corner of our lives—the heart, our words, and our actions—and to fill every gap with grace. By practicing confession, fasting, repentance, and loving service, we strengthen the foundation and ensure that when the floods come, our house will stand firm.

Brothers and sisters, today's challenge is clear: do not allow your spiritual house to rest on shifting sand. By examining your foundation, feeding your heart daily with the Word of Christ, and repairing the cracks you discover, you will build an indestructible dwelling that glorifies God and withstands the assaults of the world. May the Lord grant you the wisdom of the inspector and the strength of the Rock so that, in every area of your life, you may say: “I am built upon the Rock, and nothing will be able to make me fall.” Amen. Thus ends the pastor's sermon.
