Jehovah Shalom - The God of Peace

Last Sunday, the Lord had poured out a powerful message to his servant, the prophet Cyril BANKOLE, about God's peace being different from the world's peace. As the world is going through troubled times and everyone may be going through difficulties, this message came at just the right moment.


In three steps, we saw the place that peace must occupy in the life of a child of God:

  • Peace and its implications through the definition of Shalom
  • Jehovah-SHALOM embodied by Jesus. He is God's supreme response to these challenges
  • Practical elements for living in peace daily.


The Shalom Concept (Peace, in Hebrew)

  • It is a set that includes well-being, heath, justice, mercy, righteousness, compassion, and truth.
  • Peace is an inseparable set.


The expression of Shalom - Fullness of life

  • The Shalom was fully expressed in the Eden Garden through prosperity and well-being.
  • It was the fullness of life on earth at this time.


The corruption of Shalom - Opposite to sin

  • Sin corrupted the truth in the heart of men causing a lot of trouble, therefore, the lack of peace.
  • Sin and peace cannot coexist.


The cost of Shalom - Secured by blood

  • Animals’ blood was required for men to be at peace temporarily.
  • Only blood calmed the wrath of God.


The solution: Jehovah Shalom

  • Jesus is the cost of Peace.
  • “The punishment that brought our peace was upon him.” Isaiah 53:5
  • Jesus came and permanently solved the issue of sin so we can be at peace.
  • God’s peace is linked to the cross.


The source of peace: Jehovah Shalom

  • Jesus is the source of our peace.
  • At the cross, he accomplished our peace. Col 2 : 13-14
  • At his resurrection, he became the peace giver. John 14 : 27
  • Jesus gives peace.


We are all peace givers.

  • Jesus made us peacemaker.
  • Peace is the characteristic of a true disciple of Christ.


A few principles: Philippians 4 : 6-7

  • Daily Peace ...
  • comes when we are worry free.
  • is maintained in prayers.
  • is the sign that we are on the right path.
  • Peace is a godly seed that the devil cannot replicate.
