Questions and answers

In the tradition of SWAN Ministries, every last Sunday of every trimester is dedicated to special worship: "Croissant and Chat around the Cross".

A unique time where the Ekklesia of Christ interacts with the man of God, the prophet Cyrille Bankolé, on various questions relating to Christian life.

This Sunday, March 26, 2023, was no exception to the rule.

Here is some of the content of the exchanges:

  • Why was Jesus born in a manger?

In Isaiah 53, the prophet announced the humble circumstances under which the king and Saviour would be born. Several years later, it is in a manger that Marie gives birth to Jesus, he had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him. God thus shows that He can take someone who is in the worst situation and that He is able to lift them up. By having him born in this manger, God also prophesied about the mission of Jesus Christ: he is the lamb who sacrificed himself to take away the sin of the world.

  • Can a Christian celebrate Easter?

Easter is one of the most important holidays that Christians should celebrate. It commemorates the protection and deliverance of the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt (Exodus 12:12-16). Christ, being the lamb of God born in a manger, offered himself to us by his blood to deliver us from the slavery of sin, thus becoming our Passover lamb. Easter reminds us of our salvation—the memory of his death on the cross and of his resurrection.

  • Can we get a tattoo to show our faith?

Leviticus 19:28 presents the formal prohibition of getting a tattoo when we belong to God. The true circumcision is of the heart and not of the flesh (Romans 2: 28–29).

Prayer points:

  • Lord, you alone are able to change my desert into an oasis, my manger into a throne, and my miserable situation into a situation of glory.

  • By being part of the people of God, I follow the directives of the Lord because they will be my salvation in the midst of attacks and difficulties.

  • Lord, it is the circumcision of the heart that I need, a profound change.

Amen Amen Amen
